District Public Relations Office, Ludhiana DC visits Haibowal Biogas Plant
Ludhiana, November 5: Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal on Tuesday took stock of operations at Haibowal Biogas plant.
Jorwal held detailed discussions with the officials of Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) to discuss methods for disposal of the cow dung in a scientific manner in the plant.
The officials informed the Deputy Commissioner that the Bio Gas Plant has a capacity of 225 tonnes cow dung per day produce electricity, which is being sold to the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) and Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) to Indian Oil from the cow dung. Around 3 tonnes CBG is being produced per day which is used in transportation, industry and cooking. Moreover, around 30 tonnes organic manure is also being prepared and sold to the people. The plant has been given on lease to the private company by PEDA.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner stated that new biogas Plant is also coming up at Tajpur with more capacity. He also asked the officials to ensure proper cleanliness around the plant.
