Ministry of Food Processing Industries to organize “ World Food India 2024” mega food event in September -Ravneet Singh

PHDCCI organizes first regional meet on food processing in Ludhiana with the Ministry


Ludhiana,15 July (Daljeet Vicky): The ministry of food processing Industries would organize a mega food event in New Delhi in the month of September. This was disclosed by S. Ravneet Singh Minister of state for food processing and Railways at a regional event in Ludhiana today. He urged the people of Punjab and all the invitees to come forward and participate in the World Food India which is a flagship event of Ministry of Food Processing Industries and being organized from September 19-22, 2024 at New Delhi. He also highlighted how the 3rd edition of World Food India will be one-of-a-kind gathering of manufacturers, producers, investors, policymakers, and organizations from across the global food ecosystem.



Expressing his happiness on large participation from the industry in the regional meet today Ravneet said that their input will be taken to the relevant departments of the ministries. He promised that his work will continue to push the agenda of development for Punjab. He pointed out that the food losses due to wastage from across globe are huge and Processing is the only way forward towards Food Security and Prosperity. The need is to take the food processing in every home of the Punjab so that the people have more returns on their products and the shelve lives of the products is also increased. He directed the officiald from the department to take the schemes of the Food Processing to grass root level so that they penetrate every house hold.


Hon’ble minister noted all the feedback and assured that the industry will get all the support from the ministry.


Shri R S Sachdeva appealed to the Hon’ble Minister to look into the connectivity and cold storage problems in the regions like Malwa, Doaba and Majha. Industry representatives, ShriUpkar Singh Ahuja requested the Chief Guest to help connect micro scale industries for availing the schemes from Govt of India. He also pointed out that how the small countries like Vietnam and Indonesia are able to export more than sixty per of its produce while India is able to export only 10 % of its total produce due to its lack of infrastructure.


 
Roaring in its full glory from the Industrial hub of Punjab, The PHD Chamber of Commerce and industry organized its first Regional Food Processing Meet in the region bringing all the major players under one roof. The meet was inaugurated in august presence of the Chief Guest for the occasion Shri Ravneet Singh Bittu, Hon’ble minister of State for the Ministry of Food Processing industries and Railways. Smt Rakhee Gupta Bhandari (IAS), Principal Secretary, Department of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of Punjab, Shri R. S. Sachdeva, Chair , Punjab State Chapter , PHDCCI , Ms. Mili Dubey, Director Food Processing Committee , PHDCCI and Bharti Sood, PHDCCI were also amongst the dignitaries for the occasion.
