Ludhiana,1 October(Daljeet Vicky)On the occasion of the 154th Gandhi Jayanti, Sacred Heart Convent School, Sec-39, Urban Estate, LDH paid tribute to the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

The celebration commenced with a special assembly with the singing of hymns that Gandhi held dear, invoking a sense of serenity and reflection. The event was a poignant reminder of his enduring legacy and the principles he espoused. The assembly featured speeches and presentations that reflected on Gandhi's life, philosophy, and the values.

A collective prayer for peace, speeches, and his inspiring quotes were recited, reaffirming Gandhi's message of non- violence and the pursuit of truth. The school community vowed to uphold these values in their daily lives. On the occasion, the second Prime Minister of India Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri was also remembered on his birth anniversary. The centrepiece of the assembly was a floral tribute to the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri. Students and teachers offered flowers as a mark of respect to the man who championed non-violence, truth, and justice.

Following the theme of Gandhi Jayanti 2023, "Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath" Students and teachers participated in the cleanliness drive conducted by the Social Science club of the school.

At the conclusion the school principal Sr Crispin Maria shared a resounding message that 2nd October is a kind reminder of Gandhi Ji's power of love, tolerance, and his life, teachings, and his indomitable spirit which empower us to be agents of positive change.
