Health Department fully committed for good health of the people of affected area: Dr. Mahesh Kumar

S.A.S Nagar June 17: Civil Surgeon Dr Mahesh Kumar Aahuja today visited the diarrhea-affected area of village Dhiremajra near Lalru and gave necessary instructions to the health officials after reviewing the overall situation. He informed that after some cases of fever and vomiting came to the fore in the village, the health department immediately swung into action and conducted a fever survey in the village.


A medical camp was also started, where ORS packets and other medicines are being distributed. He said several water samples have also been taken from the water supply lines in the affected area and report will be available very soon. He added that the water supply line in the affected area had already been cut off. Apart from inspecting the medical camp, the Civil Surgeon visited the homes of the patients and took stock of the situation. He said that the situation is completely under control and the health of the patients is being taken care of.


The Civil Surgeon appealed to the people of the village to drink boiled or filtered water and reach the nearest health center as soon as they show signs of fever or other related illness. He said that such diseases are often caused due to contamination of drinking water. Therefore, everyone should drink filtered or boiled water, especially in the rainy season. He said health teams are constantly monitoring the overall situation and keeping a close watch on the sick.


Dr Mahesh asked the health officials that no stone should be left unturned in providing quality health facilities to the people of the area. He said that the health department was making all out efforts to ensure that other people are not affected by the disease and the patients are cured as soon as possible. He appealed to the people to contact the helpline number 104 of the health department for any health related information or disease. SMO Dr. Dharminder Singh, Dr Naveen Kaushik and other health officials were also present.
