PAU Alumnus Bags Best Gidha Dancer Award in Canada
Ludhiana, April 17. Ms Purvika Chhuneja, a PAU alumnus of the College of Agriculture, has won the Best Dancer Award in the 'All Canada Competition for Gidha', organized by Flower City, Brampton, Canada. Her team ‘Sunehri Pippal Pattian’ also won the second position in Gidha competition at the Canadian National Level. Purvika lead her team as Coach as well as Captain for Gidha performance. The open competition covered a number of Gidha teams from all over Canada.
Earlier, as an undergraduate student of PAU, she had won First Position in Solo Dance during the University level Youth Festival in year 2022. Purvika had been training in dance since four years of age and had earlier performed Gidha in Youth Festivals of the PAU and her team had won First Prize in 2017 and 2018. Presently, she is pursuing MBA programme in a University in Canada.
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University lauded the stellar performance; Dr Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Dean of College of Agriculture and President Alumni Association, congratulated Purvika Chhuneja on bringing laurels to the university.
