Gulzar Group of Institutions celebrated International Women’s Day
Ludhiana. Gulzar Group of Institution celebrated International Women’s Day that honors the achievements and to calls attention to the rights of women. Students were informed that International Women’s Day is globally celebrated for social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
Later ,declamation contest was also organized in the campus on various topics like Equality is our goal and access is our right , Women’s activism that has shaped the world , Five innovations that have advanced women’s rights etc .
Gurkirat singh, executive director, GGI informed at the moment there have been great leaps forward for women worldwide in education, the world of work, justice and political representation, but there is still more to be done. It is day to celebrate equality, justice, peace and development of women. He further explained the importance of games and asked students to be health conscious.
According to him women should be brave enough to make a stand, to be heard, to be involved, to fight for their rights and equality with men in society ,only then world can be made better place for women . Function came to an end after prize distribution to the winners.
