Sacred Heart Sr. Sec. School Celebrate Everyday as Earth Day
Ludhiana : Sacred Heart Sr. Sec. School B.R.S. Nagar celebrated Earth day, the first holy day, which transcends all natural borders and time belts and brings people all over the world into one resonating accord, devoted to the preservation of the harmony of nature and yet draw upon the triumphs of technology. This day of nature's equipoise was celebrated with a medley of myriad conservation related activities.
The celebration started by invoking the blessings of the Supreme, followed by an Earth Day song and a mesmerizing presentation by the children of kindergarten displaying the whole planet being assaulted by the human beings and the need to check the carbon footprints. Ek Soch (A Short Skit) eulogized not only mother Earth's selfless contribution but also impressed upon the children to become the crusaders for environment conservation.
The venerable chief guest of the day, Col. Jasjit Singh Gill, Retired Army Officer and active environmentalist, elucidated the gathering with his plethora of knowledge and experience of environmental issues. The Director of the school Rev. Fr. George and the esteemed Principal Rev. Sr. Silvi gave the message to show reverence to God's creation and humility in dealing with it as it is the key to our survival. Tree plantation drive taken out by the students to sensitize about the need of the hour. The programme concluded with the enthusiastic rendering of the school anthem.
