GGI organized Annual Sports Meet, Overall trophy bagged by Business studies department
Ludhiana, 6 March. Gulzar Group of Institutes organized Annual Sports meet at its campus. DSP khanna, Karnail singh inaugurated this mega event. Students from all the departments took oath to participate in Sports Meet with the true spirit of Sportsmanship.
The students showcased their multi faceted talents. They took part in sports including Football, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Tug of War, Cricket Match (Girls), Shot Put, Long Jump, Discuss Throw, 100mtrs, 200mtrs, 400mtrs, 800mtrs, 1500 mtrs race, Javeline throw, 4x100 mtrs relay as well as 4x100 mtrs mixed relay and the students battled it out on ground to clinch various titles. The event witnessed immense participation of enthusiastic students who put in their best efforts and displayed immense team spirit and integrity. Overall trophy bagged by Business studies department. Speaking on the occasion DSP khanna, Karnail singh said that sports are necessary for overall development of the personality of a person as sportsman spirit teaches discipline, team work and determination to win. He further added that sports help in improving both physical and mental strength and the body remains fit and healthy.
Chairman Gursharan Singh & Gurkirat Singh, Executive Director, GGI distributed medals, certificates, and trophies among winners in different sports events and inspired the participating players with his speech. Highlighting the importance of sports he said that the lessons of life are learnt in the playground, sports instill discipline, perseverance, team work, sense of justice and co-operation which go a long way in one’s life. The event successfully ended with the National Anthem sung by the entire audience.
