PAU HOLDS WORKSHOPS AND LECTURES FOR AGRIBUSINESS STUDENTS

LUDHIANA, MARCH 31: The School of Business Studies, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized  workshops and guest lectures for B.Sc. Agribusiness, MBA, MBA (Agribusiness) and Ph.D students under the scheme ICAR-1. Ms Komal Chopra, Managing Director and Chief Marketing officer; Ms Surbhi Chopra, Chief Technical Officer and Ms Geetika from AADVI Business Structures (LLP), were invited to conduct the workshop on “Digital Marketing.” Ms Komal initiated the workshop by enlightening the students about fundamentals of digital marketing. The speakers highlighted the common digital marketing channels like social media marketing, influencer marketing, affiliate marketing, and discussed both active and passive source of income from digital platforms.


The second workshop on “Entrepreneurship Development and Alternate Source of Energy” saw discussions by the esteemed speakers Mr Arvinder Singh, Managing Director; Mr Harmeet Singh Narang, Director Sales and Mr Abhay from DK Energy Solutions.


Mr Arvinder Singh dwelt upon the aspects and importance of entrepreneurship, and various approaches to be successful in business through his rich life experiences.


In the afternoon session, Mr Harmeet Singh and Mr Abhay discussed the career opportunities in the area of renewable sources of energy.  A series of guest lectures were conducted, wherein the first lecture in the series was delivered by Mr MS Malhi, Advisor Syngenta Foundation, on the topic “New Initiatives in Agri Inputs”. He also shed light on the application of new agri input initiatives for farmers like custom hiring, drone technology, etc.


The second lecture was conducted by Dr YP Sachdeva, Professor (retd.) of School of Business Studies, who highlighted the importance of the communication skills in improving the personality.


Another engrossing lecture was delivered by Mrs Mandeep Ahluwalia Pahva, Director Mukat pipes, on her life journey and transformation of Mukat pipes into a debt free and profitable company, along with moderator Mrs Gulneet.
