PAU EXPERTS URGE RURAL WOMEN TO ADOPT KITCHEN GARDENING

LUDHIANA, MAY 5: As many as 60 farm women members of women’s wing of PAU Kisan Club attended the monthly training camp at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). Dr Rupinder Kaur, Coordinator of the club; along with experts Rahul Gupta and Ms Kanwaljit Kaur demonstrated the making of healthy drinks using seasonal fruits.


Dr Dilpreet Singh, vegetable science expert, while delivering a lecture on vegetable kitchen garden, suggested rural women to grow pesticide-free vegetables in their kitchen garden for domestic and commercial use, health benefits and additional income. “PAU has developed vegetable seed kits which are available for purchase at a nominal price,” he informed, while urging the women to buy and go in for kitchen garden concept. The women members also visited vegetable kitchen garden farm at PAU. Dr Rupinder Kaur welcomed and proposed a vote of thanks.
