Vet Varsity Cultural contingent won first prize at All India AGRI UNIFEST 2023
Ludhiana 17 April 2023 : The Cultural contingent of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana participated in the 21st All India Agricultural Universities’ Youth Festival 2022-23 held at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore and won several prizes. The contingent had a total of 25 members including 21 students, 3 accompanists and 2 team managers Dr. Nidhi Sharma, Welfare Officer and Dr. Nitin Wakchaure.
Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor applauded the entire contingent for their excellent performance to bring laurels for the institute.
Dr. Satyavan Rampal, Director, Student Welfare congratulated the team for winning a total of 17 trophies. Team won first place in One Act Play, second place in Procession, third place in Group Song Indian, fourth Place in Collage Making under Fine Arts Events. The competition was conducted under five categories namely literary, dance, theatre, fine arts and music.
At the formal opening ceremony of Agri Unifest 2023, GADVASU was selected from 59 participating universities to perform in front of the cabinet minister, state ministers and DDGICAR for getting second position in the Procession competition.
Dr. Nidhi Sharma, team manager said that among the dignitaries Dr. S V Suresha, VC, UAS Bangalore, Sh. Narendra Singh Tomar union minister, Smt. Shobha karandlaje, Sh. BC Patil state ministers and Dr. RC Agarwal, DDG, ICAR adored the Bhangra performance so much that they asked the Bhangra team dressed in their colourful Punjabi attire for Bhangra performance thrice and finally in the main auditorium of Dr. Babu Rajendra Prasad International Convention Centre, Bangalore.
